Job summary

MEI invites applications for Local Lead (Maths Education Progression). The role focuses on working with regional Maths Hubs to improve progression to Level 3 Maths, especially for disadvantaged students.

The position is home/remote based with travel, and involves developing teacher CPD and coordinating events with universities and employers. The Local Lead collaborates with AMSP and MEI teams to raise attainment, engages with HEIs, and reports to the Senior Local Lead and Director for School &

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a regional or national role within maths education.
• Qualified Teacher Status is desirable and relevant to the role.
• Strong IT skills and mathematical software usage in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Maths Hubs to raise attainment and progression to Level 3 Maths.
• Provide professional development and curriculum support to secondary maths teachers.
• Organise events with universities and employers to raise student aspirations.
• Represent MEI/AMSP at local and regional education events.
• Report to Senior Local Lead and liaise with HEIs, employers and local agencies.
