Qualifications

  • 3+ years of direct experience of teaching mathematics to students across the 11-19 age range.
  • Experience of teaching both GCSE and AS/A level Mathematics.
  • Experience of mathematics enrichment or outreach work.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Maths Hubs to improve GCSE Maths performance of disadvantaged secondary school students.
  • Provide leadership in schools to inspire the prioritization of high attainment in maths.
  • Develop detailed knowledge of maths progression in their geographical area.

Skills

Experience of working in a regional or national role within maths education
A passion for mathematics and mathematics teaching
Strong IT skills including the use of technology in teaching mathematics
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good team-working skills
The ability to inspire others
High levels of self-motivation and well-developed time management skills
Commitment to creating an inclusive culture

Education

Qualified Teacher Status
A first degree in mathematics or strongly mathematics-based subject
