Job summary

Nationwide in London is seeking a Local Business Manager for Tottenham Court Road to nurture business customer relationships, originate opportunities and deliver outstanding service within a defined local market.

Based in a branch, the role is permanent, full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Saturday). You’ll gain training, coaching and a clear path to build Business Banking expertise while contributing to community growth.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer outcomes in a customer-focused role within a regulated environment.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships and understand customer needs.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
• Skilled in identifying customer needs and connecting customers with the most appropriate products, services or support.
• Good judgement and decision-making skills, balancing customer outcomes with effective risk management.
• Experience managing multiple priorities, customer relationships and follow-up activity in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven track record of working accurately and compliantly within regulatory requirements and risk frameworks.
• A willingness to learn and develop Business Banking knowledge and capability.

Responsibilities

• You’ll support customers throughout their relationship with Nationwide, from onboarding and everyday servicing to more complex needs, owning the customer journey to ensure good outcomes.
• By understanding each customer’s ambitions, you’ll deepen relationships, make referrals to other teams where appropriate and help them access the right support to start, run and grow.
• You’ll talk to customers about finance where it could help their business and, through our training and accreditation programme, develop the knowledge and confidence to make lending decisions within your delegated authority.
