Job summary
University of Derby provides high-quality technical support for the Loan Hub, ensuring specialist equipment is available, maintained and managed to support teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange activities across the school and wider University.
The postholder administers day-to-day operation of the Loan Hub and booking system, delivering a professional equipment loan service, maintaining specialist equipment, and aiding users with technical advice while ensuring safe operation.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in photography, film, media production, audio or multimedia.
- Experience with professional media equipment and technical support.
- Experience maintaining records using computerized systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer the Loan Hub and the equipment booking system.
- Provide first‑line technical advice and demonstrations.
- Maintain equipment assets and records; support teaching and events.
- Assist with procurement and stock management; supervise staff.
- Deputise for the Senior Technical Adviser when needed.
- Deliver high standards of customer service to staff, students and external users.
- Participate in PDR and pursue professional development.
