Job summary

Ward Security in London is seeking an experienced Loading Bay Officer to ensure the smooth movement of goods, coordinate deliveries and maintain safe, organized logistics areas.

You will monitor access, provide excellent customer service to tenants and drivers, keep accurate records and report delays, while adhering to site procedures and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Loading Bay experience or logistics background required.
• Experience coordinating deliveries and managing site logistics.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and complete documentation correctly.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving logistical issues.

Responsibilities

• Delivery Coordination: Manage and coordinate deliveries to/from the site in line with scheduled arrangements.
• Access Control: Monitor loading bay access and ensure site procedures are followed.
• Customer Service: Act as a key contact for tenants, drivers and contractors.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain daily logs and up-to-date records.
• Communication and Reporting: Report delays or issues to the supervisor and communicate potential logistical challenges.
• Health and Safety: Identify and promptly report hazards or incidents.
• Site Standards: Keep logistics areas clean, tidy and compliant with site rules.
• Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other reasonable duties as requested.

Ward Security is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Loading Bay Officer to join our team at a prestigious office development in the heart of London. Set alongside the River Thames and overlooking the iconic surroundings of Somerset House, this distinctive building combines striking 1930s Art Deco architecture with modern, sustainable office space. With a busy professional occupier environment and a prominent riverside location, you'll play an important role in coordinating deliveries, supporting site logistics and ensuring all loading bay operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with site procedures.

Location: London, WC2E 7EN
Pay Rate: £16 per hour
Shift Pattern: 60 hours per week
Requirement: Experience in site logistics and delivery coordination

About the Role

As a Loading Bay Officer, you'll be responsible for supporting the smooth movement of goods to and from the site, ensuring deliveries are coordinated effectively and logistics areas remain safe, organised and secure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery Coordination: Manage and coordinate deliveries to and from the site, ensuring they are handled efficiently and in line with scheduled arrangements.
• Access Control: Monitor access to loading bay and logistics areas, ensuring site procedures are followed.
• Customer Service: Act as a key point of contact for tenants, delivery drivers and contractors, responding to enquiries professionally.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Ensure delivery paperwork is completed accurately, maintain daily logs and keep records up to date.
• Communication and Reporting: Monitor delivery schedules, report delays or issues to the supervisor or Site Manager, and communicate potential logistical challenges to minimise disruption.
• Health and Safety: Identify and report hazards or incidents promptly, helping maintain a safe working environment.
• Site Standards: Keep logistics areas clean, tidy and organised, ensuring they are used in accordance with site rules.
• Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the company.
