Job summary

Multimodal Solutions is seeking a Load Safety Inspector at our Shotton, Flintshire site in Wales. This full-time role focuses on monitoring load safety and load restraint standards, conducting trailer safety inspections, and assisting LGV drivers on site.

Working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, 9:30am–6:30pm. The successful candidate will have CCNSG Safety Passport, knowledge of LGV procedures and safety legislation, and a full clean driving licence. Site-based, outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in road haulage safety and load restraint practices.
• Confident communication with LGV/HGV drivers and on-site colleagues.
• CCNSG Safety Passport and knowledge of HSE legislation essential.
• Full, clean driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet incoming LGV drivers, conduct site inductions and safety briefings
• Monitor and enforce load safety and load restraint standards on site
• Carry out trailer safety inspections prior to loading and unloading
• Assist drivers in preparing trailers and ensuring loads are secured before departure
• Supervise haulier drivers on site and enforce safety procedures
• Complete non-conformances and safety reports and escalate concerns

Load Safety Inspector- Multimodal Solutions is looking for a Load SafetyInspectorto join the team on a full-time, permanent basis at our customer site in Shotton, Flintshire, Wales.

About the role:

As a Load Safety Inspector, you will play an important role in maintaining the safe and compliant movement of goods by monitoring and enforcing load safety and load restraint standards for visiting LGV road hauliers. Working as part of a dedicated customer service and operations team, you will carry out trailer safety inspections, support drivers while on site, and help ensure consistently high standards of health and safety compliance. Working hours for this role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 6:30pm. The role is site-based and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities:

• Meet and greet incoming LGV drivers, conducting site inductions and safety briefings
• Monitor and enforce customer load safety and load restraint standards throughout site operations
• Carryout safety inspections of trailers prior to loading and unloading activities
• Assist LGV drivers in preparing trailers for loading and ensure loads are correctly configured and secured before departure
• Supervise and control haulier drivers while on site, ensuring compliance with site safety procedures
• Complete reports relating to non-conformances and safety issues, escalating concerns where appropriate

About you:

As a Load Safety Inspector, you will have a strong understanding of health and safety requirements within the road haulage, transport, logistics or distribution sector. You will be confident communicating with LGV/HGV drivers and colleagues, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining safe working practices and high compliance standards.

You will ideally hold a CCNSG Safety Passport and have knowledge of LGV driver procedures, different trailer types, and relevant HSE legislation. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and basic IT proficiency are essential. A flexible, proactive and responsible approach is important, together with the ability to work outdoors and manage your workload with minimal supervision. A full, clean driving licence is required.
