Job summary

DP World’s Multimodal Solutions is hiring a Load Safety Checker to join our team at the Chester site. You will monitor load safety, carry out trailer inspections, and support drivers to ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role is full-time and site-based, with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A CCNSG Safety Passport and a full, clean driving licence are preferred, along with a proactive, outdoors-friendly approach.

Qualifications

• CCNSG Safety Passport preferred.
• Knowledge of LGV driver procedures, trailer types and relevant HSE legislation.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and basic IT proficiency.
• Full, clean driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet incoming LGV drivers, conducting site inductions and safety briefings.
• Monitor and enforce customer load safety and load restraint standards throughout site operations.
• Carry out safety inspections of trailers prior to loading and unloading activities.
• Assist LGV drivers in preparing trailers for loading and ensure loads are correctly configured and secured before departure.
• Supervise and control haulier drivers while on site, ensuring compliance with site safety procedures.
• Complete reports relating to non-conformances and safety issues, escalating concerns where appropriate.
