Igloo Ltd is seeking Load Lane Checkers to join a busy automotive site in Corby. This hands-on role covers vehicle movements across site, ensuring vehicles are booked in, allocated correctly, and ready for despatch.

Ideal candidates will have attention to detail, be comfortable with handheld devices, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Weekly pay and onsite parking are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, yard, or logistics operations.
• Proficient with handheld devices and tablet systems.
• Basic IT skills to input and retrieve data accurately.
• Excellent attention to detail and process adherence.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work in a busy environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence (6 points max, minor offences advised).

Responsibilities

• Book vehicles into internal systems on arrival.
• Verify vehicle documents and report discrepancies.
• Perform initial vehicle checks for damage or missing items.
• Direct vehicles to correct load lanes promptly.
• Conduct load lane checks and ensure correct allocation.
• Check keys, paperwork, and vehicle statuses before release.
• Liaise with yard, despatch and transport teams to maintain flow.
• Update vehicle records and maintain documentation.
• Identify and escalate operational issues to management.

We are currently recruiting for Load Lane Checkers to join a busy automotive operation in Corby. This is a hands-on role supporting vehicle movements across site, ensuring vehicles are accurately booked in, correctly allocated, and ready for despatch.

The successful candidate will have good attention to detail, be comfortable using handheld technology, and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.

The Role:

As a Load Lane Checker, your responsibilities will include:

• Booking vehicles into internal systems upon arrival
• Verifying vehicle documentation and reporting any discrepancies
• Carrying out initial vehicle checks, identifying visible damage or missing items
• Directing vehicles to the correct load lane promptly and efficiently
• Conducting load lane checks to ensure vehicles are correctly allocated and ready for despatch
• Checking that keys, paperwork, and vehicle statuses match prior to release
• Liaising with yard, despatch, and transport teams to maintain smooth vehicle flow
• Updating vehicle records and maintaining accurate documentation
• Identifying and escalating operational issues, damage, or process deviations to management

The Person:

• Previous experience within an automotive, yard, logistics, or similar operational environment is desirable
• Competent using handheld devices and tablet-based systems
• Basic IT skills with the ability to accurately input and retrieve information
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamReliable, proactive, and able to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences is advantageous
