Job summary

The People Pod is seeking a General Manager for a flagship PBSA in Liverpool. You will lead an on-site team, drive performance, and deliver an exceptional resident experience in a thriving, people-first culture.

You bring PBSA management experience or strong operational background, with a passion for developing others and energising teams. You'll work closely with stakeholders to maintain high standards and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• PBSA management experience is highly desirable.
• Background in Build to Rent, hospitality, retail or broader operational management is welcome.
• Natural people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others.
• Ability to energise a team and foster a positive culture.
• Strong understanding of compliance, health and safety, building operations, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a well-established on-site team with a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Coach and develop team members to reach potential and enable progression across the business.
• Drive an exceptional resident experience, ensuring students feel welcomed, supported, safe and proud to call the building home.
• Own the building's operational performance and maintain high standards across all areas.
• Oversee building safety, compliance, statutory checks, PPM schedules and audit readiness.
• Monitor KPIs, occupancy, resident satisfaction, rebookers and overall commercial performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to continually improve service delivery and operational excellence.
• Handle incidents with professionalism and sound judgement.
• Represent the building and build relationships with residents, universities, contractors and local stakeholders.
