Job summary

The Glee Club Birmingham is seeking an Assistant Venue Manager to shape and support all aspects of our live event operation. As a keyholder and line manager to the Heads of bar, floor, kitchen, box office and technical departments, you will manage events day-to-day, ensure safety, and drive revenue targets.

We're looking for a candidate with supervisory experience in a live entertainment venue or bar/restaurant, who can lead teams, problem-solve under pressure and deliver outstanding guest

Qualifications

• Personal Licence holder is required or essential.
• Degree level education preferred.
• Proven history of people management in live settings.
• Strong communication skills with guests and staff.
• Attention to detail in safety, service and operations.
• Experience dealing with the general public in a busy venue.
• Good problem solving and decision making under pressure.
• Ability and enthusiasm to drive sales and improve revenue.

Responsibilities

• Duty management of events, coordinating stakeholders to fulfil promoter, customer, police and venue requirements.
• Plan and schedule staff for multi-show nights within budgets.
• Line manage department heads (bar, floor, kitchen, tech, security and box office).
• Write rotas and deploy staff for shifts, aligning with budgets.
• Forecast weekly sales and ensure payroll accuracy.
