Job summary

Active Care Group is seeking a compassionate Live-In Support Worker in East Grinstead to provide high-quality, person-centered care to a male client living with a spinal cord injury. You will help maintain his independence, dignity and daily routine within his home, building trust and enabling him to direct his own care.

The role operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rota, with a flexible zero-hours contract and ongoing support from a leading care provider.

Qualifications

• Experience as a live-in support worker is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills are essential.
• Willing to work a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rota and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred live-in support to the client.
• Support independence, dignity and daily routines in the home.
• Plan and follow care routines in collaboration with the client.
• Communicate effectively and respect client preferences and choices.

Having choice and control over his daily routine is very important to him, so you will need to be someone who listens, communicates well and respects his preferences.He enjoys making the most of the sunshine and spending time outdoors, including relaxing and sunbathing when the weather allows. He particularly enjoys the warmer, brighter months and is less fond of the darker days of winter!When he isn't enjoying the outdoors, he likes to keep his mind active with Sudoku and enjoys following sport — particularly rugby, football and cricket.Building a positive and trusting relationship with him will be an important part of your role. You'll support him in a way that enables him to remain in control of his care, maintain his independence and feel respected, valued and listened to.**When you'll be working:*** 2 weeks on 2 weeks offIn this role, you’ll support one individual with complex needs as part of a consistent care team, with regular weekly shifts and rotas planned in advance.
