Job summary

Active Care Group is seeking a Live-In Support Worker to care for a sociable young man with an acquired brain injury and learning disabilities in Bradwell, Great Yarmouth. You'll stay in his home during placement and provide person-centred support to promote independence and community participation.

The role features a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off live-in rota, driving licence required, and benefits such as paid travel, training, pension, and bonus schemes.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Have experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
• Have experience working with acquired brain injury (desirable).
• Knowledge of Makaton (advantageous).
• Be patient, reliable and proactive.
• Enjoy building positive relationships.
• Passionate about helping people live independently and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to promote independence, wellbeing and community participation.
• Stay in the client’s home during placement and support daily living tasks.
• Support access to community activities and social events.
• Encourage participation in hobbies, sports and interests.
• Prioritise safety, wellbeing and comfort for the client.
• Work closely with family members and the wider care team.

He particularly enjoys outings with his grandad and trips to local attractions.Following meningitis as a baby, he lives with an acquired brain injury, learning disabilities, hearing impairment and mobility challenges.
