Job Description for Sous Chef at The Alexander Pope pub & hotel

The Alexander Pope pub & hotel is a stylish hub for Twickenham & Teddington, just a five-minute walk from Strawberry Hill Station. Serving all the pub classics, with a focus on fresh fish via our daily 'Skipper's Catch'. On rugby days, the pub is buzzing with pre-match diners. We also host live music nights and famous quiz nights. Sundays are popular for families enjoying our Sunday Roasts. The nearest public transport is Strawberry Hill Train Station.

What we look for in a Sous Chef:

We seek an experienced Sous Chef or Senior CDP aiming for the next step, who is a natural leader with a passion for producing quality fresh food in a welcoming environment. As our Sous Chef, you will:

  • Have experience championing excellent service through quality food.
  • Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team.
  • Be an active, hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills.
  • Be responsible for managing the kitchen staff rota, training, and health & safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with your Head Chef to design and deliver new dishes for menus and specials.
  • Show great planning and organizational skills to maintain effective controls regarding GP and labour.
  • Proactively drive sales and growth through engagement with kitchen and front of house teams.
