Job summary
A Star Care is recruiting a reliable Live-In Personal Assistant / Complex Care Support Worker to assist a university student with a complex physical disability to live independently in central Leeds. This rota-based live-in role includes planned daytime support and sleep-in cover with designated breaks.
Start date: 20 September 2026. Responsibilities include personal care, transfers with hoists, meal prep, and enabling participation in campus and community activities.
Qualifications
- Previous professional experience providing personal care and moving-and-handling support.
- Full, clean UK driving licence and confidence driving a large automatic vehicle.
- Able to work a live-in rota and travel or stay away when agreed.
Responsibilities
- Provide dignified personal care, including support with bathing, dressing and continence needs.
- Support transfers and mobility using hoisting equipment in line with care plan and training.
- Prepare meals, light domestic tasks and assist with daily routines.
- Enable access to university, social, sporting and community activities to promote independence.
- Drive an automatic wheelchair-accessible vehicle safely.
- Occasional travel and overnight stays in North Yorkshire and elsewhere in the UK; overseas travel may be offered by prior agreement.
