Job summary

HF Scotland, with a Glasgow/Edinburgh hybrid model, is seeking a Litigation Solicitor to join the Defender Insurance Team. You’ll manage diverse defender matters for major insurers, supported by a four-partner leadership and a culture focused on people and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a caseload of pre‑litigated and litigated defender matters.
• Confidence handling high‑volume work and third‑party claims.
• Knowledge of personal injury claims and procedures; Defended, Pursuer, or insurance‑sector experience welcome.
• A proactive, motivated mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and engaging caseload through our case management system as identified above.
• Support Partners by reviewing evidence, drafting correspondence and pleadings, and ensuring our clients receive an exceptional service.
• Develop advocacy skills via internal and external training to enable you to present your own cases in Court.
• HF prides itself on advocacy—team members conduct procedural hearings, debates, and proofs.
