Job summary

Freedom Networks is seeking a Chargehand Linesman to lead and deliver overhead line work across construction, maintenance and replacement projects up to 33kV. This field-based role combines on-site leadership with hands-on technical tasks within a supportive team.

You will mentor colleagues, uphold safety and compliance, and contribute to efficient delivery while benefiting from a car scheme, generous pension, 25 days holiday, wellbeing and private medical cover.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Linesperson.
• Experience working on dead networks and/or live LV work.
• IPAF accreditation (training can be provided).
• Full UK driving licence.
• NRSWA Operative qualification.
• Strong safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Erect, construct, maintain and replace overhead networks up to 33kV.
• Lead on-site and ensure work meets Freedom standards and safety policies.
• Participate in risk assessments and monitor site conditions.
• Mentor colleagues and maintain issued vehicles, tools and equipment.

About the Role

In this field-based position, you will play a vital role in our Overhead Line (OHL) team, leading and collaborating with colleagues on exciting projects that involve the construction, maintenance, and replacement of overhead line networks.This is more than just a job; it's an opportunity to enhance your skills, embrace responsibility, and grow your career within a supportive and innovative environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

Be a core part of the Overhead Line team, erecting poles, changing transformers, and performing a variety of overhead line activities. Construct, maintain, and replace overhead electrical networks up to 33kV. Ensure all work aligns with
Freedom standards, policies, and customer requirements. Lead by example on-site, safely executing tasks as directed. Participate in risk assessments before starting work and continuously review site conditions. Work safely in accordance with Company and statutory safety requirements. Complete all tasks efficiently, adhering to Company procedures and distribution safety rules. Install and construct overhead electricity networks to high-quality standards. Mentor and support the development of fellow team members. Maintain your own competence in line with legislative and customer requirements. Contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of Freedom's operations. Promote and demonstrate Freedom's AIMED and TLC values. Maintain issued vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent working order.
