Job summary

Evri is hiring a lorry driver at Cardiff site to join our night-shift team. You will operate a modern Volvo truck, plan routes, and ensure timely deliveries to regional hubs across the UK. A strong focus on safety, vehicle checks, and efficient driving is required.

We offer 45 hours per week with Mon-Fri shifts (20:30–06:30), a supportive work environment and competitive benefits. Applicants should hold a Class 1 licence with DCPC and good knowledge of traffic laws.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Class 1 driving licence and DCPC qualifications.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of road transport laws and safety.
• Be available for e.g. night shifts and long-haul routes.
• Willingness to work Mon-Fri on a consistent night schedule.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Volvo lorry from our fleet to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Follow planned routes, ensure cargo integrity, and on-time deliveries.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and report defects.
• Assist with loading/unloading as required and operate pallet trucks when needed.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
