Job summary

Long Clawson Dairy in Long Clawson (near Melton Mowbray) is seeking a Line Leader in Packing. You will manage a packing line, ensure on-time production to cost and quality targets, and lead a small team to meet daily plans.

Based in Long Clawson, this 40-hour week runs Monday to Friday, 06:15–15:00. The role offers a competitive hourly rate with great benefits and opportunities within a historic cheese producer.

Based: Long Clawson (LE14 4PJ)

Salary: £14.16 per hour + Great Benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 06:15 to 15:00

We are now seeking a Line Leader in our Packing team, to join the Clawson family situated in the picturesque village of Long Clawson, just 6 miles from Melton Mowbray.

What you’ll do

You will manage a specific packing line area or function as directed by the Team Leader, ensuring that schedules are achieved on time, to the specified cost, quality and quantity by the most efficient utilisation of resources available.

• Ensure your line and associated equipment / staff are ready and available in advance, for the start of each shift and all associated change overs.
• Achieve set targets by reducing cheese wastage and labour costs
• Coordinate Raw materials and packaging to line on a daily basis, with no production stoppages.
• Show respect for colleagues, customers, and the environment

What are we looking for?

Essential

• Adaptable/flexible to meet requirements and demands of production and seasonal fluctuations
• Health & Safety awareness
• Industrious and be able to work under pressure
• Good level of Accuracy and numeracy when completing records.
• Good knowledge of operating machinery
• Good standard of spoken and written English
• Quality focused.
• Current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (to be achieved within 12 months)
• Self-motivated and able to motivate staff.
• Basic IT skills including Excel and Word.
• Must be able to work on own initiative.
• Ambitious, driven and passionate about making improvements, which lead to visible financial results and increase factory control and ownership.

Desirable

• Health & Safety trained in Manual handling, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and risk assessment.
• Must possess an understanding of Allergen awareness.
• Knowledge of quality and compliance systems
• Food/process manufacturing background
