Job summary

Long Clawson Dairy is seeking a Hygiene Front Line Manager to lead the hygiene team at our Long Clawson site near Melton Mowbray. The role focuses on maintaining clean, safe conditions and delivering daily excellence in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.

You will oversee training, audits, KPI reporting, and collaboration with engineering to uphold GMP, HACCP principles and COSHH compliance. Salary circa £39,000 plus benefits, based on 36.65 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable Hygiene managerial experience within the food manufacturing industry.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Food hygiene certificate required within 12 months.
• Experience with HICs/CICs and COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support hygiene team leaders and ensure training is up to date.
• Conduct weekly team briefings and handovers with the Hygiene Manager.
• Drive productivity and cost control through waste and cleaning efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering to sign off on hygiene standards and GMP compliance.
• Maintain accurate KPI reporting and periodic audits of cleaning and hygiene processes.

Hours: 36.65 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 1700 to 0100

We are now seeking a Front Line Manager for our Hygiene team, to join the Clawson family situated in the picturesque village of Long Clawson, just 6 miles from Melton Mowbray.

• Ensure that Health & Safety procedures, Quality/Hygiene standards and company Rules, procedures and policies are always adhered to.
• Assist with the delivery of training for the teams when needed.
• Reporting of issues as they arise, which may impact on product quality, production /hygiene activities, and environmental issues.

• Conduct weekly team briefings across all departments using the 4-box grid design.
• Ensure a robust system of handovers directly to the hygiene manager on a weekly basis which will include the hygiene KPI’s

• Strive to improve productivity and cost reduction through control of wastes and loses, e.g. water, detergents and time by ensuring the teams are working efficiently.
• Weekly auditing of areas to ensure that the finish standards includingthe methodology is to the correct standards.
• To ensure that periodic cleaning is up to date.

• Encourage teamwork and develop new ways of working within your team.
• Work closely with the hygiene manager to make improvements and promote the hygiene department within the company.
• Support in the creation and amendments of the HIC’s/CIC’s and ensure that they are up to date.
• Support in the upkeep of the department task/cleaning/COSHH risk assessments.

Integrity

• Manage the Team leaders, providing support and guidance, supporting in conducting performance development reviews, disciplinary and investigations issues, and ensuring training plans are up to date via the training matrix.
• Implement corrective actions from GMP, Finish standard audits and external audits.
• Liaise with the engineering department to sign off on hygiene standards.

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrable Hygiene managerial experience within the food manufacturing industry.
• Excellent people management.
• Food hygiene certificate (to be achieved within 12 months).
• Experience with HIC’s / CIC’s.
• Understanding of COSHH.
• Good level of numeracy and literacy to carry out area reporting activities.
• Understanding of KPI’s.
• IOSH or equivalent trained.
• Experience of carrying out risk assessments
