Job summary

Kew Green Hotels is seeking a Commis Chef to join the Holiday Inn Portsmouth kitchen team. You’ll cook to recipe standards, help prepare daily specials, and deliver outstanding guest experiences.

There is an opportunity to join our Chef Academy with a funded Level 2 Commis Chef qualification. Fully funded apprenticeships support ongoing development and career progression.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in restaurant, hotel, pub or similar.
• Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
• Basic Food Safety certification or willingness to complete training.
• Passion for great food and memorable guest experiences.
• Positive attitude, teamwork, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Cook and present dishes to recipe standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Support daily specials to showcase skills and excite guests.
• Keep prep areas stocked, clean, and ready during service.
• Follow food safety standards and help minimise waste.
• Work with team and Kitchen Manager to deliver excellent guest experiences.
