Lancashire Independent Living Service in Preston is seeking a caring Personal Assistant to support a wheelchair-using client to live independently at home. The role is varied, offering practical and emotional support to maintain wellbeing and daily routines.

You will assist with mobility, meals, personal care, appointments, diary management, light housekeeping and community access; a driver is desirable but not essential. DBS check will be required.

An opportunity has arisen for a caring, reliable and adaptable Personal Assistant to support a disabled woman living independently in her own home. The role is varied and rewarding, supporting the client with day-to-day living and helping her maintain her independence and wellbeing.

The client is a wheelchair user who experiences chronic leg pain, mobility difficulties, and mental health challenges. As her health and wellbeing can vary from day to day, she is looking for someone who is flexible, understanding and able to adapt their support accordingly.

Main Duties Include:

• Assisting the client in and out of the bath and providing support with mobility when required.
• Preparing meals and encouraging healthy eating.

Experience in a similar care, support worker or personal assistant role is desirable but not essential, as the right attitude and approach are equally important.A young person lives at the property; therefore, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
