Job summary

Lancashire Independent Living Service (LILS) is seeking a Personal Assistant in the Preston area to provide practical and social support to a lady living with severe sight loss. The role focuses on enabling independence, staying active, and assisting with everyday tasks.

You will accompany her to shops, appointments, classes and outdoor activities, helping her enjoy a fulfilling daily routine. We are looking for a reliable, friendly and organised individual who can support day-to-day activities,

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with disabilities or sight loss preferred.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, friendly and patient approach.
• Right to work in the UK and safeguarding awareness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to maintain independence.
• Assist with light household tasks and admin/organisation.
• accompany shopping, appointments and activities.
• Support participation in outings and social activities.
• Support to attend classes and community events.

About the role

Duties will include:

• Accompanying me shopping and to appointments/activities.
• Taking me to evening classes.
• Supporting me to enjoy walks, outdoor activities and trying new things.
