Job summary

Lancashire Independent Living Service is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant to support a non-verbal male in his own home in the Chorley area. You will assist with evening routines, bedtime preparations, and light household tasks, in a dog-friendly home.

Excellent communication and a positive attitude are essential. Previous care experience is desirable but not essential; a proactive, reliable approach and good interpersonal skills are required to support daily living activities and

Responsibilities

• Support with the client's evening routine.
• Assist with changing and dressing, bed-time preparations, and laying out clothes for the next day.
• Help with light household tasks (loading/unloading dishwasher, washing machine).
• Assist with preparing prescribed medications (not administration).
• Ensure the dog-friendly household is maintained and safe.

LILS/SD/KE - Personal Assistant required - Chorley area

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Assistant to provide support to a non-verbal male within his own home to support with his evening routine. The client communicates via a computer based communication system and uses an electric wheelchair.

As a Personal Assistant your duties will include supporting with his evening routine, including assistance with removing and applying continence pads, assist the client to prepare prescribed medication in a pot and measuring cough meds (no administration required), assistance to apply cream on legs, assistance to change from day clothes into nightwear, select and lay out clothes for the following day, assist to prepare bed time drink, and to assist occasionally with some household tasks such as loading/unloading dishwasher/washing machine.

We are looking for a caring, proactive and motivated individual with a passion for supporting others.Previous experience is desirable but not essential, but a positive attitude and good work ethic is essential. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.There is a young, very friendly border terrier living in the house so the applicant must be dog friendly.
