Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is looking for Lighting Engineers to join their team in Leeds. This role supports Local Government and Strategic Road Network projects, focusing on design and analysis while providing a hybrid working model that encourages collaboration and flexibility.

The right candidate will have strong technical skills in lighting design software, be adept at managing projects, and have a background in electrical design. WSP promotes an inclusive work environment with various benefits aimed at employee wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Proficient in lighting design software and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of external lighting standards and legislation.
• Good awareness of lighting maintenance operations.
• Experience in lighting design through to construction.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design layouts and support documentation.
• Prepare feasibility reports and technical specifications.
• Engage with equipment manufacturers and contractors.
• Conduct site visits for lighting assessments.
• Build strong working relationships with Local Authorities.

Skills

Lighting Reality or Dialux lighting design software

AutoCAD

Understanding of external lighting standards

Electrical design knowledge

Coaching junior team members

Education

Membership of a relevant professional organisation (IEng/CEng)
