Job summary

Lloyds British, part of the Speedy Group, is seeking an experienced Surveyor Engineer (Lifting Equipment Inspection) to join our team. The role involves carrying out inspections of lifting equipment across customer sites, ensuring compliance with LOLER and industry standards.

You will identify defects, provide safety guidance, and produce detailed reports while delivering excellent service. Ideal candidates hold LEEA qualifications or equivalent and have strong knowledge of LOLER.

Qualifications

• LEEA qualifications or equivalent recognised lifting equipment inspection qualifications.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of LOLER and statutory requirements.
• Experience inspecting lifting equipment including cranes, hoists and lifting accessories.
• Excellent mechanical and technical knowledge.
• Ability to identify defects and assess safe working condition of lifting equipment.
• Experience producing detailed technical inspection reports.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused approach with ability to build lasting relationships.
• Ability to work independently, manage workloads and maintain high inspection standards.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out thorough examinations and inspections of lifting equipment in accordance with LOLER and relevant industry standards.
• Inspecting lifting equipment including cranes, hoists, lifting accessories and associated equipment.
• Identifying defects, assessing risks and making recommendations to ensure equipment remains safe.
• Producing accurate, detailed inspection reports and maintaining documentation.
• Ensuring inspections are completed in line with statutory requirements, procedures and customer expectations.
• Providing technical advice and guidance to customers regarding equipment condition and safety.
• Building strong relationships with customers and delivering excellent service.
• Keeping up-to-date with legislation, industry standards and inspection techniques.
