Job summary

Path Recruitment seeks a Lifting Equipment Engineer in the UK to perform LOLER/PUWER inspections and repairs on a range of lifting gear. The role involves workshop and site work with a company van and structured routes across the South West.

You will typically handle breakdowns and scheduled repairs, maintain safety standards, and act as the main technical contact for clients while upholding a professional company image.

Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting and repairing lifting gear under LOLER/PUWER.
  • Experience with shackles, winches, hoists, gantries, and MEWP fleet.
  • Experience communicating with customers and coordinating repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs and inspections and LOLER/PUWER examinations on lifting gear in workshop and on site.
  • Work on plant equipment such as diggers, dumpers, rollers and MEWPs.
  • Attend customer sites across the South West with a company van.
  • Be the technical contact by email and phone for the customer.
  • Complete scheduled minor and major repair works.
  • Maintain a professional image representing the company.

Due to their success, they are seeking a lifting equipment engineer to join one of their sites near Bridgwater.

Responsibilities as the Lifting Equipment Engineer

  • You will be required to carry out all repairs and inspections and LOLER/PUWER examinations on a range of lifting gear including shackles, winches, hoists, and gantries, within a workshop environment.
  • Some of the work will also be on plant equipment like diggers, dumpers, rollers and on a large fleet of MEWPS
  • You will be required to attend a customers site within the South West in which, you will be provided with a company van.
  • You will be the customer's point of contact by email and phone for technical support as the Lifting Engineer
  • Complete scheduled repair works both minor and major
  • Maintain a professional image at all times to represent the company as the Lifting Engineer


The Newly Appointed Lifting Equipment Engineer will ideally have the following attributes;

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience working as an LEEA inspector, Lifting Engineer, Lifting Equipment Engineer, LOLER inspector, Engineer Surveyor or Plant Engineer and have experience in repairing and inspecting a range of lifting equipment.

You will ideally hold an LEEA qualification (or equivalent) along with an NVQ or City and guilds in mechanics or engineering.
