Description

Exciting Opportunity: Join Hudson Lifting as a Lifting Equipment Engineer!

Are you ready to kick-start your career in a fast-growing, innovative company? At Hudson Lifting, we’re looking for a dynamic, hands-on individual to join our team as a Lifting Equipment Engineer. This is your chance to become part of an award-winning business, where you'll learn the ins and outs of inspecting, maintaining, and repairing cutting-edge lifting equipment that keeps our customers’ operations running smoothly.

If you're a natural "tinkerer" with a passion for mechanical engineering or already have experience as a technician, we want to hear from you!

What’s in it for you?

  • Real-world experience: Develop valuable skills on the job while working with industry-leading equipment.
  • Career progression: We’ll invest in your growth with full training, including a LEEA courses and a diploma in lifting equipment engineering, if you haven’t already got these.
  • A supportive environment: Work alongside a team of experts in a company committed to your development and success.

Here are some of the things you can expect to do:

As a Lifting Equipment Engineer, you’ll dive into a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Testing and inspecting equipment to ensure it meets the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Maintaining and preparing equipment for hire, making sure it’s always ready for customers.
  • Conducting on-site inspections and troubleshooting for customers and helping with breakdowns when needed.
  • Dismantling and repairing faulty components, bringing your technical expertise to the forefront.
  • Assisting with deliveries and collections as required.
  • Keeping our workshop safe, tidy, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • This list isn't exhaustive, and you may be called upon for additional duties as needed.

This is not your typical 9-to-5 – you’ll gain hands-on experience and have the chance to take on new challenges as you grow with us.

We invite you to apply if...

  • Passion for mechanical equipment: If you’re excited about lifting gear, machinery, and engineering, this is the role for you.
  • Attention to detail: You’ll take pride in ensuring all work is of the highest quality, identifying issues and solving problems efficiently.
  • A proactive attitude: You’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment and taking ownership of tasks.
  • Experience is a plus, but not essential: If you have experience diagnosing and repairing lifting equipment or plant machinery, fantastic! If not, we’re happy to train the right candidate.

You'll also need a clean UK driving license to carry out site visits and occasional deliveries. If you don’t have certain certifications like a forklift truck license, don’t worry – we can provide training for those too!
