Job summary

Schindler UK & Ireland is seeking a Lift Installation Engineer for projects across Scotland, including Edinburgh. You will install lift equipment safely, work with project teams, and ensure testing and handover are completed to high standards.

You will bring a recognised lift engineering qualification with installation experience, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to manage workload while maintaining safety and quality. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised lift engineering qualification and relevant lift installation experience.
• Fault-finding and diagnostic skills to resolve installation issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and relationship-building with customers, site teams and inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Installing lift shafts, mechanical components and ancillary equipment in line with safety requirements.
• Installing and assembling traction equipment, including alignment and adjustment of lift systems.
• Installing and tensioning suspension and governor ropes and safety equipment on new installations and modernisation projects.
• Installing lift entrances, doors, frames and safety devices.
• Carrying out final installation checks, pre-commissioning and handover readiness checks.
• Conducting site surveys to support efficient project delivery.
• Providing accurate progress updates and resource estimates to keep programmes on track.
• Resolving installation issues through fault-finding and problem solving.
• Maintaining safety, housekeeping and quality across all installation activities.
