Job summary

Schindler Group is seeking a Lift Installation Engineer to deliver new lift installations across Scotland. You will install lift equipment safely and to high standards, collaborating with project teams and customers from site surveys through testing and handover.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, fault-finding ability and a commitment to safety. A driving licence valid in the UK and lift industry experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised lift engineering qualification (NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience installing lift equipment in new, refurbishment or modernisation projects.
• Strong knowledge of lift installation practices and safety standards.
• Fault-finding and diagnostic skills to resolve installation issues.

Responsibilities

• Install lift shafts, mechanical components and ancillary equipment per procedures and safety rules.
• Assemble traction equipment, align and adjust lift systems.
• Install and tension suspension ropes and safety devices on new and modernisation projects.
• Fit lift entrances, doors, frames and safety devices; support testing and handover.
• Perform final checks, pre-commissioning, and site surveys for efficient delivery.
• Provide accurate site updates on progress, resources and risks.
• Maintain safety, housekeeping and quality across installation activities.
