Job summary

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is seeking a Lifestyle Manager to lead hospitality, wellbeing and lifestyle services at Lovat Fields Retirement Village in Milton Keynes. You will create a vibrant resident environment and maintain top customer service and operational standards.

In this role you will oversee services including activities, catering, retail, and gym, line-manage staff and volunteers, and collaborate with the local community to enhance resident experience.

Qualifications

• Extensive management or senior front-of-house experience in hospitality or service-led environments.
• Strong business acumen including budgeting and P&L awareness.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Experience managing staff and volunteers in a commercial setting.
• Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with staff, residents, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and line-manage delegated service functions: Activities/Events, Volunteers, Catering, Bar, Retail, Housekeeping, Gym.
• Build relationships with staff, residents and local community groups.
• Drive customer service excellence and operational delivery, developing staff capability.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Act as deputy to the Village Manager with oversight of village services, including care.

The ExtraCare Charitable Trust is recruitingaLifestyle Manageron a 37.5 hours per week permanent contract at Lovat Fields Retirement Village basedin Milton Keynes.

The role

As ourLifestyle Manager, you will lead the delivery of exceptional hospitality, wellbeing, and lifestyle services, creating a vibrant and engaging environment for residents while ensuring the highest standards of customer service and operational excellence.

• Salary: £42,806pa

What will you do as our Lifestyle Manager?

• You will be responsible for overseeing and line managingdelegated functions of the service which include Activities and Events, Volunteers, Catering, Bar, Retail (commercial units), Housekeeping and the Gym
• Build and manage relationships within the Villagewith staff, residents, volunteers, and network with the local community groups
• Bring your commercial experience to focus on delivering excellent customer serviceand achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability
• Ensure compliance for internal and external regulations
• Act as deputy to the Village Manager and have oversight and knowledge of all services within the village including care services

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Extensive experience in a management or senior role with a customer service or front of housefocus
• Demonstrable business acumen including generating income and budget management (specifically profit and loss)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Experience of managing staff and volunteers within a commercial business
• Ability to motivateand communicate effectively with staff, residents, external customers and other key stakeholders

Desirable: -

• Experience of working in aretirement village setting or similar such as Golf Clubs or hotels, understanding the needs of our resident group
• Personal licence holder (or willingness to obtain)
• Qualifications in food hygiene, health and safety, NVQ/QCF or equivalent in Hospitality/management
