Job summary

Excelcare on site at Dovecote Care Home in Milton Keynes is seeking a Lifestyle Activities Coordinator to organise meaningful activities and a lifestyle programme that enriches the lives of residents.

You will collaborate with care teams, families and the people living in our home to tailor activities to individual and group needs, including partnerships with local community organisations, schools and churches.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Be organised and well planned.
• Confident with a can-do attitude.
• Genuine desire to improve the lives of older people.

Responsibilities

• Create and organise meaningful activities and a lifestyle programme throughout the home.
• Involve teams, family members and residents to tailor activities for individuals and groups.
• Develop partnerships with local community organisations, schools, churches, and others.
• Plan days out and outings, leveraging surrounding areas and resources.
• Aim to empower residents to enjoy a social environment and achieve personal outcomes.

We have an exciting opportunity for aLifestyle Activities Coordinatorto join our team at our Dovecote Care Home inMilton Keynes,you will be part of a compassionate and welcoming team providing physical, emotional, and social support.Your dedication, reliability and support will make a difference every day.

Excelcare is a family-owned care home group established for over 34 years.We provide the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. By joining us you will become one of the ‘family’ and in return for your dedication and hard work you can expect:

• £13.45- £13.85per hour depending on experience and qualifications
• Hours are 45 per week.9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. With a possibility with doing the odd weekend when needed.

About the role:

• As theLifestyle Activities Coordinator, you will be required to create and organise meaningful and engaging activities and a lifestyle programme throughout the home to enrich the lives of people living in the care home
• To do this you will need to include the teams, family members and the people living in our home to establish an understanding of the activities and lifestyle changes that would benefit them individually or as a group
• This could include activities within the home or creating partnerships with local community organisations, schools, colleges, churches and much more
• Planning days out is also encouraged, therefore a good knowledge of surrounding areas and external organisations is desirable
• This role aims to offer choice and empower the people living in the care home to create an enjoyable and social environment where we strive to ensure their individual outcomes are achieved

• Experience within a similar role is desirable or previous experience in a caring environment
• Be organised and well planned – looking to make a change utilising your caring nature and passion
• Confident, with a fun, can do attitude
