Job summary

Charnwood Borough Council is seeking a Lifeline Control Operator for a part-time role averaging 24 hours per week. You will manage alerts from pendant or pullcord devices, assess emergencies and decide on actions to protect vulnerable residents.

Role entails shift work across nights, evenings and weekends with full training provided. The service operates 24/7, 365 days a year, with you covering rota must include various times.

Qualifications

• Must remain calm and courteous in emergencies
• Ability to act on own initiative
• Clear communication to ensure trust in the service
• Knowledge and understanding of handling sensitive personal information
• Willing to cover for colleagues’ sickness/holidays (overtime)

Responsibilities

• Assess caller needs and determine appropriate action.
• Coordinate responses with emergency services, medical professionals or carers.
• Maintain composure and provide reassurance to residents.
• Handle sensitive information in line with Data Protection.
• Work various shifts including nights, evenings, weekends and holidays.
