Job summary

Charnwood Borough Council seeks a part-time Control Operator for its Lifeline office to assist elderly and vulnerable tenants. You will assess alarms coming from pendant/pullcord devices, determine appropriate actions, and coordinate responses as needed.

Role requires calmness, initiative, clear communication, and discretion with personal data. Some shifts involve lone working; overtime may be required to cover sickness and holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to remain calm and courteous in varied situations.
• Ability to work using own initiative.
• Confident, clear communication to build trust in the service.
• Knowledge of handling sensitive personal information in line with Data Protection.

Responsibilities

• Assess emergencies and decide on appropriate action for Lifeline calls.
• Contact emergency services, medical professionals, or family as required.
• Respond to out-of-hours calls for emergency repairs from tenants.
