Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking a Lifeline Installation Officer to install and maintain safety and connectivity equipment in customers’ homes across Somerset. You will help residents stay independent by delivering reliable, compassionate service and by recording precise visit details for ongoing support.

In this role you’ll build trust with clients and professionals, manage a varied workload, and use MS Office tools to keep records.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service to diverse needs and situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to put people at ease and explain clearly.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach, especially with vulnerable customers in their homes.
• Good organisational skills; able to work independently and as part of a team; capable of managing a varied workload.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and holding a full driving licence with the ability to travel across Somerset.

Salary: Grade 12 - £29,542 to £33,119 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

Somerset Lifeline helps people across Somerset live safely and independently in their own homes through technology-enabled care and support services. The team works closely with residents, families, health and social care professionals, and community partners to provide reassurance and practical support when it matters most.

As a Lifeline Installation Officer, you'll be at the heart of delivering a service that makes a real difference to people's lives. Visiting customers in their homes, you'll install and maintain equipment that helps them stay safe, connected and independent. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you'll build trusted relationships with customers, provide advice and reassurance, and help ensure every customer receives an excellent experience. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine practical skills with meaningful customer contact while supporting some of Somerset's most vulnerable residents.
