Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking a Prevention, Tenancy and Support Officer to help people maintain safe housing. You’ll assess needs, provide practical support and intervene to prevent crises, working with residents, landlords and partner organisations across Somerset.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and travel across the county. The position offers a permanent contract, 37 hours per week, and flexible hybrid working where service needs allow, with a salary band of £28,598 to £32,061 per

About the Role

As a Prevention, Tenancy and Support Officer at Somerset Council, you'll play a key role in helping people maintain safe and secure housing. Working with individuals and families who may be facing housing difficulties or are at risk of homelessness, you'll provide practical support, advice and intervention to help prevent crises and improve long-term outcomes.

This is a rewarding and varied role where you'll work collaboratively with residents, landlords and partner organisations to identify challenges, develop solutions and support people to remain in their homes wherever possible. Where this is not achievable, you'll help residents access suitable alternative accommodation and support them through a planned and sustainable transition.

• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as the role includes regular travel and home visits across Somerset.
