Job summary

Newport Live is seeking two full-time Recreation Assistants to supervise the public at our leisure venues and perform Lifeguard duties in the swimming pools. The role includes variety across the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre and Newport Stadium, with duties spanning safety, customer service, and operational tasks.

The role requires RLSS Lifeguard qualification, a customer-facing background, and the ability to lead groups. Welsh language skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• RLSS Lifeguard Qualification required.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is essential.
• Ability to communicate with large groups of customers and lead sections of the public.

Responsibilities

• Administer First Aid as required.
• Set up and de-rig equipment, ensuring it is fit for use.
• Immediately report defects in venues and equipment.
• Regularly monitor venues to prevent misuse or damage.
• Assist in delivery, storage, movement and removal of materials and equipment.
• Assist management in emergency situations.
