Job summary

Serco Limited is recruiting on behalf of Maidstone Leisure Trust for a full-time Lifeguard at Maidstone Leisure Centre (ME15 7RN). This 40-hour-per-week role includes early and late shifts, with a salary of up to £27,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.

You will ensure pool safety, provide customer care, and support a welcoming, clean environment, with training opportunities and access to leisure benefits.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with diverse customers.
• Must be safety conscious and able to handle pressurised situations.
• Strong swimming skills required, holding a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
• Must be at least 18 years old for a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pool activities and ensure safety of users.
• Provide high quality customer care to visitors of all ages.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the pool area and equipment setup.
• Assist with pool equipment setup and safe handling when needed, including lifesaving if required.

As a Lifeguard you'll be an important part of life here at the centre as you ensure that everyone can use the pool in safety and that they have access to everything they need to enjoy their visit.
You will be providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and set up of pool equipment. And of course, when needed - you'll help to save lives.
Without you there can't be any pool activity. But you won't be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. You will also receive fantastic training and development opportunities and benefits including free leisure access and other various discounts.

Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust.

About you

You will need to have excellent customer serviceskills as you'll be interacting heavily with our customers. So, whether you've earned that experience in a leisure or another customer facing environment, you'll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
As a lifeguard you'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. Lastly, you'll need to have strongswimming skillsand it's essential that you hold aNational Pool Lifeguard Qualification(Royal Life Saving Society).

Due to this being a full-time role, you will need to be at least 18+ to be considered.
