Job summary

The University of Northampton is seeking a capable Life Sciences laboratory postholder to support the delivery of learning, teaching and research by ensuring the safe, effective and efficient operation of specialist laboratory facilities and equipment.

You will prepare, maintain and develop laboratory resources, demonstrate specialist techniques such as molecular biology and cell culture, support practical teaching sessions, and oversee biosafety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in Life Sciences laboratory environment.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements for practical delivery.
• Strong organisational and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support learning, teaching and research in Life Sciences.
• Maintain and develop laboratory resources and equipment.
• Demonstrate specialist techniques to students and staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and biosafety requirements.
• Assist with equipment servicing, stock control and procurement.
• Support student and staff activities, outreach and faculty priorities.
