Job summary

Sisk Group in Macclesfield seeks a Project Manager for its Life Science team to lead delivery from pre-construction through to completion. You will coordinate design, programme, and construction, ensuring safety, quality and budget compliance while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

The role emphasizes pre-construction ownership, design coordination, and the ability to challenge drawings when needed, without producing designs yourself.

Qualifications

• Experience with technically complex projects in regulated environments is essential.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors.
• Solid understanding of scheduling, cost control and quality management.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Managing projects through pre-construction and design development stages.
• Acting as both Project Manager and Design Manager during early stages.
• Developing and managing design programmes, deliverable schedules and responsibility matrices.
• Coordinating architects, structural engineers, M&E consultants and subcontractors.
• Chairing design and pre-construction meetings and ensuring actions are closed out.
• Driving consultants and subcontractors to meet design dates and milestones.
• Reviewing design information for constructability, coordination, cost and risk.
• Identifying design gaps and risks early.
• Managing RFIs, technical queries and design changes.
• Supporting procurement with developed design information.
• Collaborating with commercial, planning and operations to align design with budget.
