Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Life Safety Systems Engineer to design and deliver Life Safety and Security Systems for advanced facilities, coordinating with engineers and design leads to produce constructable 2D/3D drawings.

You will interface with client counterparts, apply NFPA codes, and lead a team on mid-to-large projects, driving accurate estimates and schedules while embracing Jacobs' collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signalling Code.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
• Familiar with IBC and NFPA 1 Fire Code as they pertain to LSS.
• Design experience with security, access control, intrusion detection and CCTV.
• Design experience with Fire Alarming, VESDA systems, HPM, and Leak Detection.
• Experience leading a team of LSS design staff.
• Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid to large scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Design Life Safety and Security Systems for client facilities.
• Lead delivery of complex LSS packages with engineers and design leads.
• Interface with client counterparts for facility designs.
• Create 2D and 3D construction deliverables from BIM models.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to produce constructable designs.
