Job summary

Jacobs in the United Kingdom is seeking a Life Safety Systems Engineer to design fire alarm, security and leakage detection for semiconductor, data centre and research facilities. You will use AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create 3D BIM models, lead LSS design teams, interface with clients, and deliver 2D and 3D construction deliverables in coordination with architects and engineers.

The role emphasizes applying NFPA codes and industry standards, estimating and scheduling mid to large projects, and

Qualifications

Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 NEC and electrical design requirements.
Knowledge and application of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signalling Code.
Knowledge and application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
Experience leading a team of LSS design staff.
Design experience with security, access control, intrusion detection and CCTV.
Design experience with Fire Alarming, VESDA systems, HPM, and Leak Detection.

Responsibilities

Design Life Safety and Security Systems for client facilities.
Lead delivery of complex packages in coordination with engineers and design leads.
Interface with client counterparts during facility design.
Create 2D and 3D construction deliverables using AutoCAD and Revit.
Produce calculations, equipment sizing, network diagrams, and construction specifications.
Collaborate with architects and engineers in BIM coordination.
