Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Life Safety Systems Engineer to design and deliver life safety and security systems for advanced facilities, including data centres and manufacturing sites. You will lead complex packages, coordinate with engineers and design leads, and interface with clients to develop 3D BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 NEC and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signalling Code.
• Knowledge & application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
• Familiar with IBC and NFPA 1 Fire Code as they pertain to LSS.
• Design experience with security, access control, intrusion detection and CCTV.
• Design experience with Fire Alarming, VESDA systems, HPM, and Leak Detection.
• Experience leading a team of LSS design staff.
• Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid to large scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Design life safety and security systems for client facilities.
• Lead delivery of complex packages with engineers and design leads.
• Interface with client counterparts for facility design.
• Create 3D BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Produce 2D/3D construction deliverables including calculations and specs.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure constructable designs.
