Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Life Safety Systems Engineer to design fire alarm, life safety, and security systems for state-of-the-art facilities. You’ll lead design packages, coordinate with engineers and design leads, and help deliver world-class 3D BIM models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.

You'll interface with client counterparts, apply NFPA codes and industry standards, and contribute to mid-to-large scale projects with strong organizational skills and collaboration across teams globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signalling Code.
• Knowledge and application of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code.
• Familiar with IBC and NFPA 1 Fire Code as they pertain to LSS.
• Design experience with security, access control, intrusion detection and CCTV.
• Design experience with Fire Alarming, VESDA systems, HPM, and Leak Detection.
• Experience leading a team of LSS design staff.
• Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
• Experience estimating and scheduling mid to large scale projects.
