A leading company in reinsurance is seeking a Life Health Claims Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London. The role involves assessing complex life and disability claims, providing excellent customer service, and participating in client audits. Context of the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated claims specialist with excellentrisk management skills. The Claims Specialist will be responsible for theassessment of a wide variety of complex life, critical Illness, and disabilityclaims for Gen Re in the UK and Ireland. From time to time the role willalso include involvement in client audits and client meetings. This rolecan offer a flexible working arrangement if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess claims from a variety of product lines that include Life,Critical Illness and Disability Claims according to the Gen Re Claimsphilosophy and standards
- Make accurate claims decisions that include the validation of claims
- Provide excellent customer service to our reinsurance clients
- Assist clients to develop return to work plans for disability claimants
- Remain up to date with the latest claims trends through appropriate research
- Take part in Gen Re’s audit program including reports and recommendations
- Provide claims input into reinsurance business decisions as required – forexample the reinsurance quote process or providing insight into philosophychanges and or claims best practice
- Participate in external Gen Re seminars, events and training as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in the UK life health insurance or reinsuranceclaims
- Excellent knowledge of the UK Insurance market
- Extensive experience and comprehensive knowledge of dealing with life,critical illness and disability claims
- Knowledge of the relevant UK and Irish codes of practice and legislation
