Location: London
This role manages and oversees delegated claims management and vendor management. The primary focus is to liaise with claims management, report on service areas, and drive operational performance within the department.
Job Responsibilities & Competencies
- Oversee audits and due diligence reviews on TPAs and Coverholders, monitor delegated claims arrangements, and ensure compliance.
- Manage the processes, reporting, and supervision of delegated claims arrangements.
- Oversee vendor management within the International Claims department, aligning processes with company standards and best practices, including working with lawyers, loss adjusters, and recovery vendors.
- Assist the Head of International Claims with management reporting and represent the department on relevant committees.
- Implement and manage delegated claims processes, ensuring customer service excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Review industry regulations and best practices related to delegated claims.
- Ensure accurate claims data, support Solvency II reporting, and maintain data governance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies related to delegated claims.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and key metrics with TPAs and Coverholders, addressing performance issues as needed.
- Manage TPA audit plans, budgets, and follow-up actions.
- Review and manage TPA agreements and claims slips.
- Oversee loss funds and Faster Claims Payment processes.
- Support wider Claims Operations team as required.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, maintaining documentation.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support company objectives.
Qualifications & Capabilities
- Claims experience, especially in delegated claims practices or shared services.
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and claims environments, with a focus on the London Market.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements efficiently.
- Operational understanding of the London Market and Lloyd’s procedures, including relevant systems (ECF, Gemini, DAM).
- Knowledge of best practices in delegated claims handling and use of advanced systems.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Commitment to The Hartford’s culture and brand in claims.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Relationship management skills with internal and external customers.
- Sound judgment and attention to detail.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum of A Level standard; further insurance qualifications preferred.
