Job summary

Essential Employment is recruiting a Licensing Officer for Shoreham-by-Sea on a temporary, part-time basis. The role supports the Team Leader in delivering Environmental Health and Licensing services, undertaking inspections, investigations and enforcement across licensing disciplines including alcohol, gambling, street trading and sex establishments.

Hybrid working with two to three days in the office. The successful candidate will interpret legislation such as Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling

Qualifications

• Experience in a local authority licensing team.
• Strong understanding of licensing legislation and enforcement.
• Able to manage a varied caseload and provide professional advice.
• Prepare reports and ensure compliance with relevant acts.
• Interpret legislation and communicate with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the Team Leader in delivering an efficient, effective and customer-focused Environmental Health and Licensing service.
• Undertake inspections, investigations and enforcement across licensing disciplines.
• Cover alcohol licensing, gambling, street trading, and sex venues.
• Apply local authority procedures and ensure timely case progress.
