Job summary

British Airways PLC is offering a four-year Licensed Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship starting September 2027 at Cardiff Airport, Wales. You’ll gain hands-on hangar experience, learn from seasoned engineers, and progress toward licensing and Type Approval.

The programme includes college-based learning, shop-floor placements, and a structured route across BAEW/BAEG/ BAMG sites with salary progression after year one.

Qualifications

• GCSE English (A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent.
• A Level Mathematics (England and Wales) or Higher Mathematics (Scotland).
• A Level Physics, Engineering or Chemistry (England and Wales) or Higher Physics/Engineering Science.
• Equivalent Level 3 qualification accepted (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering).

Responsibilities

• As an apprentice, gain hands-on experience in hangars and maintenance facilities.
• Collaborate with skilled engineers on aircraft maintenance tasks.
• Develop engineering knowledge toward licensing and Type Approval.
