Job summary

British Airways Engineering invites applicants to join the Licensed Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship at Gatwick. This four-year pathway blends college learning with hands-on shopfloor experience, progressing toward licensing and Type Approval. The programme builds skills through cross-site development and real-world maintenance tasks.

You will start in September 2027 with a starting salary of £17,339. The BA apprenticeship network provides progression, benefits, and flight-discount opportunities

Qualifications

• GCSE English (A*-C / 9-4) or Scottish National 5 is required.
• Mathematics at A level or Higher is required.
• Physics/Engineering at A level or Higher Physics/Engineering Science is required.
• An equivalent Level 3 qualification in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering is accepted.
• Right to live and work in the UK is required.
• Ability to meet attendance and working-pattern requirements.

Education

A Level Mathematics (England and Wales) or Higher Mathematics (Scotland)

A Level Physics, Engineering or Chemistry (England and Wales) or Higher Physics or Engineering Science (Scotland)
