Job summary

British Airways invites applications for its four-year Licensed Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship based at Cardiff Airport in Wales. The programme combines college study with hands-on hangar work to prepare you for future licensing and Type Approval, within a fast-paced aviation environment.

From day one you’ll work with experienced engineers, learn safety-conscious practices, and progress through the ranks toward a B licence.

Qualifications

• GCSE English (A*-C / 9-4) or Scottish National 5;
• A Level Mathematics (England & Wales) or Higher Mathematics (Scotland); and
• A Level Physics, Engineering or Chemistry (England & Wales) or Higher Physics or Engineering Science (Scotland) or equivalent Level 3 qualification.

Responsibilities

• Year 1: Full-time college learning with shopfloor introduction.
• Years 2-3: Day release and on-site experience.
• Years 4: Further workplace development towards licensing pathway.
• Years 5-7+: Licensing and Type Approval development ongoing.
