Job summary

Weston College is recruiting a LibraryPlus Learning Advisor for a part-time, term-time role. You will work 29.6 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with interviews held on-site at Weston-super-Mare campuses. The LibraryPlus team supports students with books, online resources, and digital skills.

You will engage in cataloguing, stocktaking, and resource access while delivering workshops and targeted study support to learners and staff. Flexibility to work across campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a library/resource centre or customer service.
• Highly accurate data entry skills.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to access and use a range of resources (books, e-books, magazines, journals, online resources).

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding front-line services within learning centres that are flexible and responsive to learners and curriculum staff.
• Support learners and staff in accessing and using resources including books, e-books, magazines, journals and online resources.
• Ensure learning centres resources are accurately processed through cataloguing, accessioning, withdrawal and stocktaking.
• Contribute to workshops and provide individual support to develop study and research skills.
• Provide support and guidance for basic digital skills.
• Be a confident user of digital resources and technologies.

Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. LibraryPlus Learning Advisors may be asked to work at any of our campuses in Weston-super-Mare, depending on the needs of the team at any given time. Our LibraryPlus provides resources, support and information to all students at all our campuses, offering a friendly and informative service and modern facilities in which to study. As a LibraryPlus Learning Advisor, you will:

• Provide outstanding front-line services within learning centres that are flexible and responsive to the needs of the learners and curriculum staff under the Weston College Group.
• Support learners and staff in accessing and using a range of resources, including books, e-books, magazines, journals, online resources, and bookable technology.
• Ensure all learning centres resources are accurately processed through cataloguing, accessioning, withdrawal and stocktaking.
• Contribute toward the delivery of workshops and individual support to develop study and research skills.
• Provide support and guidance for basic digital skills.
• Be a confident competent user of digital resources and technologies.
• Have one year of experience in either a library/resource centre setting, or in customer service.
• Have highly accurate data entry skills.
• Be a confident user of Microsoft Office 365.
